I thank Dr. Manuel Sebastian Thomas for taking interest and going through our research article and suggesting some temporary coronal sealing techniques. This study was primarily focused at the sealing ability of the different provisional restorative materials between the restorative material and the tooth interface, therefore, the common practice prevalent among many of the dentists that is to place a cotton pellet into the pulp chamber before placement of the temporary restoration was followed. The apparatus used in this study is a limited static model that does not simulate some conditions found in the oral cavity. Use of a piece of polytetrafluoroethylene tape on the floor of the pulp chamber as a mechanical barrier can be considered, but there is a possibility of the restorative material to seep through the sides of the barrier and clog the orifice. Use of smaller size cotton pellets as suggested is a better alternative.
