The Saudi Endodontic Society ( SES) held its 1st Saudi Endodontic Society international Conference and workshops in collaboration with the 3rd National Guard conference in 16-19 October 2011 at the Riyadh Marriott Hotel.
In this specialized dental event highlighted the latest scientific advances in all dental fields through the most well known international and national Outstanding speakers in coherence with a large dental exhibit that was hosted all well-known national and international companies.
Outstanding Endodontic speakers from all over the world honored this scientific gathering. Keynotes international speakers with live surgery workshops did extensively cover recent advances in Endodontic.
The keynote speakers were:
Prof. Paul Dummer (Vice Dean, School of Dentistry, Cardiff University, UK) gave two presentation about post treatment endodontic disease and re-treatment - biological sciences and- clinical sciences.
Prof. Gabrielle Pecora (Director of international program "Advanced implantology and regenerative techniques" Brazil and Founder and Past-President of the "Italian Academy Microscopic Dentistry")
The presentation was about the Microendo surgery: limits of conservative therapy and implant as an alternative. He presented another lecture about Sinus management in periradicular surgery.
Prof. Mahmoud Torabinejad (Director, Endodontic residency, Loma Lina University, USA) gave a nice presentation about the clinical application of MTA and the latest development of Regenerative Endodontics.
Prof. Gunnar Hasselgren (Columbia University, College of Dental Medicine, Division of Endodontics, New York, USA) gave three lectures. The first was about Root resorption and the second was about Pulp regeneration. Dentine sensitivity: why and how? Was his third presentation.
Dr. Ashraf Fouad (Chairman, Department of Endodontics, Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry. Director, Postgraduate of Endodontics. University of Maryland, USA). He talked about the clinical effectiveness of contemporary root canal preparation technologies. His second lecture was about the assessment of Endodontic treatment outcomes.
Dr. Jean Philippe Mallet (President of the French Society of Endodontics. Teaching associate, University of Toulouse, France) gave a presentation about Ni-Ti in Endodontics: new approaches of design for better cleaning and shaping.
Dr. Emad Alshwaimi (Endodontic Department, University of Dammam, Saudi Arabia) gave a general information about the application of Micro-CT in Endodontics.
Dr. Khalid Alfouzan (President of the Saudi Endodontic Society, King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia) presented his recent research, Direct pulp capping with different materials in-vivo.
A number of workshops were held and attended by a good number of participants. Prof. M. Torabinejad did a live surgery on a patient using the Endodontic microscope.
A gala dinner was held at the amazing restaurant "Najeiah village". The chairman of the Saudi Endodontic Society Dr. Al-Fouzan thanks everybody for successful meetings and distributed the awards.
He announced on that night that the Saudi Endodontic Journal launched its first issue and awarded the Editor in-Chief, Prof. Saad Al-Nazhan for his amazed activity with his group who worked hard to bring the dream of issuing the Saudi Endodontic Journal to reality. Everybody enjoyed the food and thanks the organizing committee for a successful meeting.
