Dear Dr. V. Ballal

We at the Saudi Endodontic Journal are grateful to you of this letter to the Editor because this will give the author the opportunity to explain additional details of the study. The experiment of this article was done in the year 2000 by two of the intern dentists (Rehab Sijiny and Hisham Al-Zaidan) at King Saud University, College of Dentistry, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as a requirement of the one year internship program. It was supervised by the late Dr. Mian Khalid Iqbal who passed away in 2010. Dr. Iqbal was one of the teaching staff at King Saud University, College of Dentistry at that time. He was a kind human being and an excellent teacher. He moved to the USA and was appointed as director, Postgraduate Endodontic Program, Department of Endodontics, University of Pennsylvania, PA. Unfortunately, the other authors cannot respond to your comments. Being a colleague of Dr. Iqbal for more than 10 years and following the concerns expressed by him, I thought it was an appropriate to publish this article as an attribute to him.

You made an excellent comment and I agree with you regarding the proposed points. They are valid and will add more strength to the article. Your comments could be picked up by those interested in such research.

Finally, the Editor and the Editorial Board, as part of our mission, seek to serve a broad range of readers, from full-time scientific researchers and academics, through specialist practitioners to interested general dentists and undergraduate students. All are valued subscribers to the Journal, and vital to its long term success.

Thank you very much for your participation in reading and commenting this article.
